We bought the product to help pull a large triangle shaped three person inflatable ride. The nose of the ride likes to dip under the water when the boat is trying to get on plane. The booster ball really helps keep the rope above the water getting on plane and when making turns.

Product may work with most boats, but not too good on mine. 22' Seadoo Islandia (jet propulsion), kind of throws up a strange wake. Ball tended to stay outside of wake, and spun a lot, twisting the rope. Actually got as much splash from the ball when it was inside the wake as from the tow line if we weren't using one.

It keeps the tow rope out of the water just like it says it will. So, less spray on the riders in the tube and the tube is not always filling with water. The kids enjoy tubing much more than before.

We bought this because when we pulled a tube behind our 23ft jetboat, the rope would get sucked under the water and the tube would violently whip suddenly.
Since using this product, it's never happened again. Well worth the money.

When pulling my kids on a tube - the rope kept cutting into the water preventing the rider from breaking the wake. This solved that problem. Looks a little funny pulling it but it works

A:
Submerging towables are an issue of under inflation. This product will not solve the problem of a submarining towable. You need to do the inflation test to make sure that your towable is inflated fully. The test is that after you think it is fully inflated, you stand on it and if you sink farther than an inch, it is under infalted. Electric inflators usually fill a tube up to 85%-90% inflated. To get the other 10-15% you need to also use a hand or foot pump to finish inflating.Answered on 10/29/2012 by Justin M. from Overton'sA:
This is a common problem with many different towables, and our suppliers have researched what causes the problem. It has nothing to do with where the tow point is surprisingly. All of our different towable suppliers have found that the problem is caused by under inflation of the towable. If you do not believe me call kwik tek or O'Brien and ask then for yourself.
If you inflate the towable to where you think it is full do this test. Stand on the towable and if you can push it down farther than an inch it is underinflated. Leave them inflated if you can afford the storage. Deflating adds the chance for stress points at crease corners when folding that can cause cracks. I know from experience. The description of it lists a 4,100-lb. break strength rope. The manufacturer states that the ball is designed for 1-4 person towables, so there shouldn't be a problem. I think it would depend somewhat, on the weight of the 3 persons riding it.Answered on 5/24/2010 by steveg from Ontario, NYA:

Yes. That's just what I did. Works fine for one or two. For two towables, just order an extra rope and attach at the "ball" to the second towable.
