We bought the product to help pull a large triangle shaped three person inflatable ride. The nose of the ride likes to dip under the water when the boat is trying to get on plane. The booster ball really helps keep the rope above the water getting on plane and when making turns.

Product may work with most boats, but not too good on mine. 22' Seadoo Islandia (jet propulsion), kind of throws up a strange wake. Ball tended to stay outside of wake, and spun a lot, twisting the rope. Actually got as much splash from the ball when it was inside the wake as from the tow line if we weren't using one.

    Comments about SportsStuff Booster Ball:

The ball is along the rope between the boat and tube, keeping the rope out of the wake at all times. No spray on the tubers. The rope did get hooked around the ball a couple times when changing riders but not a big deal. Well worth the money, good idea somebody had.

      Comments about SportsStuff Booster Ball:

When pulling a tube with riders, it reduces the water spray in their faces. We used to wear goggles because the pull rope would drag in the water causing an annoying spray. This cuts a major portion of that spray. Wouldn't ever tube without this product again.

        Comments about SportsStuff Booster Ball:

It keeps the tow rope out of the water just like it says it will. So, less spray on the riders in the tube and the tube is not always filling with water. The kids enjoy tubing much more than before.

We bought this because when we pulled a tube behind our 23ft jetboat, the rope would get sucked under the water and the tube would violently whip suddenly.
Since using this product, it's never happened again. Well worth the money.

I have a 3 person airglide that tows in both directions. Problem I am having, when we try chariot style towing, air glide submarines. I feel this is due to the low hook up on our boat off of the swim platform it is very close to water line. Would this product fix the problem or do I need a different fix?

                  A:

Submerging towables are an issue of under inflation. This product will not solve the problem of a submarining towable. You need to do the inflation test to make sure that your towable is inflated fully. The test is that after you think it is fully inflated, you stand on it and if you sink farther than an inch, it is under infalted. Electric inflators usually fill a tube up to 85%-90% inflated. To get the other 10-15% you need to also use a hand or foot pump to finish inflating.

                  A:

This is a common problem with many different towables, and our suppliers have researched what causes the problem. It has nothing to do with where the tow point is surprisingly. All of our different towable suppliers have found that the problem is caused by under inflation of the towable. If you do not believe me call kwik tek or O'Brien and ask then for yourself.
If you inflate the towable to where you think it is full do this test. Stand on the towable and if you can push it down farther than an inch it is underinflated. Always finish inflating with a hand or foot pump, and get it as full of air as possible.

Yes. That's just what I did. Works fine for one or two. For two towables, just order an extra rope and attach at the "ball" to the second towable. Keeps line out of the wake using the much stronger transom mount on my 4 Winns. Ball didn't show any problem with having two towables on it.

thats what I was planning to do but one person on this site pulls two tubes with one ball. The rope seems strong enough. But will the ball pull two double tubes. Does the Manufacture know the answer.

I have a champion bass boat and kids who enjoy tubing. The rope connection is down on each side of the motor virtually underwater. I thought I could find a mount to screw into rear seat base for towing. But this product might allow for my connection and eliminate rope drag in the water. Do you attach your tow rope to this product. Maybe the product is capable of towing without additional rope.

On my Tracker Targa bass boat I had the same problem. The Booster Ball eliminated the rope drag. It comes with 30 feet of tow rope off each end of the ball (total length 60ft) and it worked great. Both my kids said it made a huge difference.
