Comments about Sport Port SportPort 5 x 12 Drive-On Docking System:

This is a great product. I have owned four over the last 10 years. I currently own the latest model and my family loves it. It's very easy to use, simply drive the boat or ski on and float it off. The other great feature is the surface area around the boat or ski once on the SportPort. It makes the skis easy to clean and maintain. The design allows the dock system to ride with the tides height so access to the water is literally in seconds.

Thank you sport-port for making my life easier!

      • Q:

Can this be secured to the dock either at the end or from the side? Also, is it recommended to remove from the water at the end of the boating season?

Thanks for your question. Yes, this can be installed at the end or on the side.

You do not have to remove the drive-on dock unless there is potential of freezing water. I am not in freezing conditions but I do remove mine in the off-season just because water conditions in my area can get rough and I do not want to leave it out there unattended for months at a time. Removing it also allows me to clean any marine growth off the bottom of the dock.

      • Q:

Your description says it's "unsinkable". One of the reviews says you drive the PWC off. How is that done when the PWC is out of the water?

          A:

Thanks for your question. Yes, the docking system is foam-filled and unsinkable. Typically you drive on to the dock. To remove the PWC from the dock you can slide it back slightly so there is more weight on the back of the dock versus the front. Then get on the PWC and shift your weight to the back which causes the back of the dock to drop down slightly and the angle of the dock will allow the PWC to slide off the dock and into the water. Depending on the weight distribution and how far you pulled up onto the dock you may not even need to push the PWC back first. Just shifting your body weight back and forth will be enough to change the weight distribution and allow the PWC to slide off the back of the dock as long as you did not pull up too far.

      • Q:

Does it ride with the tide for launch and ride on during low tide? If so how low of a tide can it accommodate launching and drive on?

          A:

Thanks for your question. Yes this rides up and down with the tide. When mounted properly it will move all the way down with the tide. It will accommodate as low as tide possible and your concern will be enough water depth to operate the PWC versus the drive-on dock position.

      • Q:

I can't back off the dock. I have a 24 foot boat on a sport port drive on dock with additional floation at stern end. I can get on no problem but getting off big problem. It is a 5 piece port made for boats of my size.
