Comments about SportDOG SportHunter 1825 Electric Collar:

This is my first e-collar. Have a 1yr old springer spaniel that has learned basic commands prior to collar (hup, heel, here). With that said immediately had to replace collar and test light as they came shipped with the collar seperating and test light did not function.

Charging the unit has been simple and came with a basic dvd which you can see same videos online both youtube and sportdog's site.

I have been using the vibrate feature as a here call while hunting quail and it works great over varying distances in the wind and over draws. My dog is mild mannered and had to set the mode to 1 and dial at 3 and a nick gets an immediate response when I want him to sit to flush.

I have been pleased with the product and used the clip attached to my pack strap on left shoulder for ease of use. Initially had the laynard feature and seemed to get in the way and not easy to grab when wanted. Overall range Ive seen is probably 400yds may go further not sure. The collar has been wet no problem and the reciever has been dropped and still works. Have hunted all day with no problem on battery but charged it for the next day to be safe each time. This is first season with it.

Would like to see a feature to add a rivet tag incase he is out of range and someone else finds him. The product states to not have another collar on him.
