I just received this as a gift. I've had a side-box smoker but really struggled to maintain a consistant temp.I've used this smoker three times so far 1st-St Louis ribs, then BabyBacks, then a beef brisket.. So far I really like it. Only two small issues so far. The stock temp gauge is off a little. It seems to read lower than actual temp. The 2nd is the amount of smoke. I personally would like a little more smoke flavor so if anyone could offer a few tips on that I would appreciate it. Other than that I will say everyone has really enjoyed the meat that this has cooked. Oh 1 thing I will add is regarding design. When adding chips it seems odd that you have to remove water pan to get to the wood chip box. No big deal but I turn off heat then open drawer, remove water pan then add chips. It only takes a few minutes and really doesn't effect the cooking time or temp that much.

Great smoker except it costs$$$ It does not roll very well and not sure what the gas tank bracket is for? Also Its nearly impossible to put more wood on it after it is cooking because, the wood is under the water pan . You have to remove the drip/ water pan so that you can get to the wood. You would think for this much $$ that it would be easier to use.The controls are on the bottom so you have stand on your head to try and use them as well this could be a fantstic smoker if a little more design was put into it

It's so easy too use, I prepare everything the night before, then in the morning add the water to the reservoir, wood chips to the chip tray, lite the smoker and place the meat in the smoker. In a matter of a few hours I got the best tasting jerky, turkey, beef brisket, you name it. Just wish I would have bought one sooner. This is by far the most efficient smoker I have seen. My friends have always had smokers but they seem to be adjusting temperature adding wood to get the meat done. But this smoker I bought, is a no brain-er and I just love it! Thanks for making it so easy.

Comments about Smoke Hollow Deluxe Vertical LP Gas Smoker With Sliding Drawer:

Had this for over a year now. Smoked jerky, flattened chicken, chicken breast, ribs, pork chops ect ect. Have no issues with design or propane holder on side. Great idea if you need to move everything and do not want to take tank off to move smoker. Temp gauge seems ok but use a meat thermometer for testing for internal temps anyway. Moveable racks are nice for and you can add extra racks for more food. Wood chips I find are better if soaked for 30 min or more and tend to last longer in this unit that way. The chips usually last me 2 hours or so this way. Water / drip pan is easier to fill from inside smoker after bottom drawer is closed them water does not spill on burner bar. Also put some sort of spray lube on lower drawer slide bearings or it gets hard to open and close. My biggest con is that smoke vent at back lets out too much smoke and heat. It does not allow you to close more than 1/3 way. All in all glad my wife gave this to me for our anniversary compared to one I wanted.

Comments about Smoke Hollow Deluxe Vertical LP Gas Smoker With Sliding Drawer:

Had this smoker for about a year now. It works great, smoked turkeys, hams, briskets, pork butt, ribs... pretty much anything that can be smoked has been in this thing. I really like the adjustable shelving, as you can pack the smoker with various meats, and maximize the cooking options. Like the other reviewer, Im going to modify and build a stand to get it higher off the gound ( easier to service, add chips, etc) and add wind protection (great idea using the welding mat). I found that the temp gauge is not accurate so will be working to fix this, but I cook to meat temps anyway and using a thermometer and temp gauge solves this problem, but I would like to know the internal temp of the unit more accurately to control the cook better. All in all, I would buy this unit again, and would recommend to others. Its pricey yes, but you get what you pay for here...
