I've used this reel to haul in the biggest bass of my life and a giant walleye. This summer I plan on putting it up against some muskie & pike. I'm sure it will be up to the task.

Comments about Shimano Sonora FB Spinning Reels:

Shimano really improved this reel. I was thinking of replacing my old reel, then went on a guided Steelhead fishing trip. This is the reel that the guide used...said that he couldn't find a better/more dependable one for close to the money. He was right. They work great!
A better reel will cost you a lot more.
Shimano needs to include a spare reel.
