Great combo, rod broke on first use, but may have had a defect. Gander Mtn is repalcing it. They are great. Would buy again nonetheless. The reel alone is worth the price.

Purchased two for my granddaughters, 6 & 8. One reel didn't work out of box. Disassembled and put it back together properly and it worked fine. Great for kids or beginners. Not much to the reel. Nice rod. No cons yet, we'll see how they hold up.
