My daughter loves this rod and reel combo. The rod is very short, so it might be soon outgrown, but so far no problems with that. If the reel breaks, though, the rod is shot as it is all one piece. I would prefer that the reel be detachable. The main point is to get her interested in fishing, and it accomplished that!
