Comments about Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Graphite Freshwater Noodle Rod, 106":

I bought this rod as an inexpensive backup for my St. Croix that cost almost four times as much. Although my St. Croix has a lifetime warranty, I thought it would be nice to have a spare if I needed it. I also planned on loaning the Shakespeare out to friends on steelhead excusions. I took it on a week-long steelhead outing this spring and didn't use it until the last day, after I loaned my "good rod" to a friend for the day. I must say, I should have been using it the whole week! The true-tapered design of the blank keeps pressure on the fish during the fight with only a very light drag setting. This rod also has a very sensitive tip and casts further and more accurately than my St. Croix. My St. Croix landed several great fish this year, but I lost a bunch as well. I am certain I would have landed more fish if I had been using my new Shakspeare instead. It doesn't have much of a warranty, but I can break it, buy it, break it, and buy it and still be saving money. I believe this may be my new primary rod.

this rod is good for the price but the eyelets are too small to fish late season steelhead, why I bought it. I will return it for something else The guides ice up real fast

Comments about Shakespeare Agility IM-8 Graphite Freshwater Noodle Rod, 106":

I fist Erie, PA stealhead season approiimately 100 days year from Sept. thru January, mostly poor weather conditions. Rod is at best average. The steal guides hinder castability especially in cold and wet weather and freeze easially in cold. The butstock end is too long it gets caught up in heavy clothing. On the good side, the action is very good for handeling large fish runs and bends and flexes as needed to play the fish. Is best used in the lake where there is more room to use heavier weights to help casting.
