Q:I have a 1992 bayliner with a 3.0 alpha one in it but when i had someone look up my engine serial number they said the engine was a 1991 sooo would the motor be considered a 1992 cuz the boat is,and will this manual be the correct one?????? thanksAsked on 6/21/2012 by Anonymous
A:The year of your boat does not decifer the year of your motor. If a dealer looked up your motor's serial number and it referenced a 1991 then it is a 1991. It is not uncommon that this happens.Answered on 10/2/2012 by Justin from Overton's
Q:I have a 1996 wellcraft scarab w/ 502 engine. I've recently noticd a small amount of what appears to be oil with a slight hint of fuel smell dripping directly below the punp the I believe drives the fuel pump and the water intake to cool the engine. Does it make sense that this pump would leak oil in a failing stage and is it possible fuel could be coming through with it? Or should I look elsewhere for the problem?Asked on 9/3/2009 by Jim from Alexandria Bay, NY
A:That is a possibility..I would have a marine mechanic look at it for trouble-shooting.Answered on 9/11/2009 by Matt from Overton's Tech.
