This stuff works great on surfaces where you're boarding the boat! Our kids go up and down the ladder to the back of the boat and have never slipped. This stuff is also great not to get hot, we are going to ad some to the floor of the bow so that it won't get hot, the swim platform does not get hot at all, even when it was over 100F.

Will seadek properly adhere to PVC sheet material such as Azek or Versatex ?

            Thank you for your question.
Per the mfg---product does not adhere well to vinyls. The initial bond is OK, but after about two weeks, it gets substantially weaker and you could start seeing peeling around the corners.

Not to get too technical, the plasticizers in PVC migrate to the surface when SeaDek is applied. These plasticizers are what repels the adhesion (also, the migration is slow, which is why it takes about two weeks to see real failure).

            A:

This is a 39" X 77" sheet that you trim to fit the area you would like to cover. Once trimmed, it easily installs with peel and stick adhesive backing. We hope this information helps but please call us at 1-800-334-6541 or email us back if you need additional information. Thanks.

For best adhesion--you will need to grind/sand surface smooth before application.

        • Q:

We have an older pontoon boat - 25 years old. The boarding platform in the front is plywood and was carpeted. the carpeting is disintegrating and looks terrible. We are wondering if this product will stick well to the plywood. It looks just like what we need.

SeaDek will attach to wood--but the bond is not that great. It is suggested that you coat the wood with a resin (polyester or epoxy) before applying the SeaDek to assure maximum adhesion.
