Q:RULE 10 2000 pump on a new Catalina 375. It intermittently runs non stop after coming on in AUTO mode and draining the bilge. The only way i can get it to shut off is by flicking the auto/man switch to the man side and then back to auto. I did not get an owners manual with delivery of the boat to troubleshoot the problem I've taken the pump off of the mount and cleaned exposed areas with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.Asked on 10/3/2010 by Greig from Toronto, Canada
A:I apologize, but I would not have any idea why that would be acting that way. I would take that to your local repair shop though, because swapping the pump out may not solve the problem.Answered on 10/20/2010 by Bryant from Tech
A:The problem is in the switching. The manual switch on the dash panel or the switch next to the pump. The float switch by the pump needs to be level because any tilt in any direction will make the switch close and run the pump. There no way the pump can run by itself.Answered on 7/13/2011 by dredge man from arapahoe, ne
