      • Q:

Is the float switch mounted at the same level as the bilge pump?

Can the float switch be installed sequentially with a 2 position switch, ie. first position powers the float switch, second position powers the bilge pump?

          No...It is just a switch

Answered on 5/6/2012 by Tanqueray from Indiana
        • A:

The same current goes through both the pump and the switch. So, for a switch rated at 40A of current, you can connect a pump with up to a 40A current draw. That is, if your circuit can handle that much current.

          A:

This is a float switch only, this activates the pump itself. This works in conjunction with a bilge pump.
