Product DescriptionThe Rule-Mate series of Automated Bilge Pumps features a pump and a non-mercury float switch in a single, compact housing. When the float rises, the pump turns on. There is no on/off cycling and, therefore, no power use until the pump comes on. The pump remains on until the float drops and the pump senses no load against the impeller. Snap-off strainer for easy cleaning. 3/4" hose output.

Q:My boat has been in the water twice since a boat dealer installed a RuleMate auto 750. It turns on when there is bilge water but continues to run after emptying the bilge. It will run until doomsday unless I cycle the power to it. It is not installed level in the bilge. If I remove it from the plastic strainer, it will cut off. Anyone know what is wrong?Asked on 5/17/2014 by Seabear from Fripp Island, SC
A:I have the same problem. The pump runs continuously, even out of water. I bought this specifically to avoid float problems and to have it work automatically. It's now drained my batteries and will not stop. No warranty exchange. I would not recommend this until they fix the problems.Answered on 8/11/2014 by Tony from Vancouver, Canada
I would suggest that you take it back to the boat dealer as it sounds like there is an installation issue.
