Product DescriptionThe Rule-Mate series of Automated Bilge Pumps features a pump and a non-mercury float switch in a single, compact housing. When the float rises, the pump turns on. There is no on/off cycling and, therefore, no power use until the pump comes on. The pump remains on until the float drops and the pump senses no load against the impeller. 1-1/8" hose output.

Q:Does the rule 1100 need to be mounted level? My bilge and hull design is modestly V- shaped with the keel area 5/8 of a inch higher than my mounting location keeping the pump not quite level, please advise!Asked on 5/1/2010 by Anonymous from Sandusky Ohio
A:I would strongly suggest mounting this unit level. The internal float that automatically activates the pump will most likely get hung up if not level. This would cause the unit to turn on and stay on, draining the battery for no good reason.Answered on 5/8/2010 by Triumph 215CC from Long Island NY
