Comments about Ruger Air Hawk .177-Caliber Air Rifle:
Rifle has a nice quality metal barrel and wooden stock. Open sights are accurate at 100 feet min with high velocity but I have not yet sighted-in the scope. Breaking the gun to load is not easy but after a little prctice one develops a preferred technique; mine is using the inner thigh to brace gun stock while breaking the barrel with the other hand. When loading I found it bast to keep the barrel facing down and finger off trigger and "V" between thumb and forefinger away from auto safety at rear of barrel. These are two good tips that will help avoid having pellets fall out and also to avoid accidental discharge of a round when closing the gun after cocking. Auto-safety-on after cocking is a great idea but just be careful not to accidentally nudge it into "off" until you're ready to aim and fire. Always keep the muzzle point down and away and don't take this gun for granted as 1000 fps velocity could cause some serious damage if fired accidentally while relaoding and cocking the barrel. Like any gun, a learning curve develops after shooting it once or twice.

Comments about Ruger Air Hawk .177-Caliber Air Rifle:
This is a very good solid gun. It is very powerful and accurate iron sights. I was shooting plastic cups from 30yds. It is super durable I've dropped it in the snow and fell 10 ft into a creek and landed on it. It still shoots fine. Only problems are no place for a sling and stock scope is hard to sight in

Comments about Ruger Air Hawk .177-Caliber Air Rifle:
This Umarex Ruger is great. Great trigger. Super accurate once sighted in. Pellet sensitive, so re-sighting needed for different pellet types. Scope works well for me. Stays where it is mounted. The open sights were spot on out of the box. Likes Crosman 8.17g pointed hunting pellets. A bit hard to cockk. But gets better as it breaks in. Pop cans at 70 yards are no problem. Weighs about 8 lbs. But has a real solid feel and is great performer that hits hard.
