It is a very good compass. Only down fall, it is smaller than you think from the picture and the pedestal screws don't tighten up enough to keep the compass perched up to the desired height or direction you want. Bottom line, it is a great compass for a small boat. If you have anything over 22ft I would recomend a bigger one. It does the job on the small lakes I use it on.
