After reading a comment about this compass that says the 3 3/4 inch dimension mentioned in the packaging is misleading and is the "overall" size of the compass not the size hole that is necessary for the compass. According to the RITCHIE mounting template found on line at www. ritchienavigation.com the flush mounted Trek TR-35 requires a hole size of 3 - 1/16 inches.Answered on 5/30/2012 by PJTad from St. Charles, Mo.
