Comments about Ritchie Explorer V-57 Dash-Mount Compass:
Bought this because the one in my Sea Ray stopped working. It looks like it belongs in the instrument cluster and is better quality than the original. Good product for a good price.

Q:
Outside dimensions .... is that the outside face of the compass ? I would like to know the dimension necessary for the hole in my console for the "back" of the compass to slide in to. thank you. k.c.
note: my existing hole is about 3 5/16 " but there is a blank so I guess I could put the blank back in and cut a new hole.
I wonder if there are rings that can slide on from the back to compensate a larger hole? I don't see any screw holes , is there some sort of "nut" that tightens on threads. thanks again.
These questions are for the V-57 dash mount compass, but would consider others if you have suggestions.Asked on 7/26/2012 by "I hate Alabama Football" from Shreveport, La.1 answer
