          You can bump into these without damage to the boat, but when docked any up & down movement of the bow will dislodge it from the attaching brackets. I have one floating in the lake somewhere. :-)

            easy to install,lasted about 2 months,the cap on the top was still attached to the post.The bottom cap was off. I found the tube on the dock. I will reatach to post w/s/s clamps I think they will be o.k. I did use w/fender bumpers just in case..

                The product was easy to install. It has no give. It is a plastic tube that shows signs of creasing after the first windy day. The first good storm and my pontoon boat ripped the bumpers out of the mounting brackets and they were never to be seen again. The remaining bracket proceeded to dent my boat wall side slightly.

                    Are the end caps/mounting brackets made of the same material? Would they be damaged if boat was banging against it in rough water?

                      The end caps are a hard plastic and rivitted to the tube in only three spots. Yes they would damage the boat if the bumper is missing.
