I was happy to find an exact match so I do not have to replace the entire assemble. I held back a star because replacement core has no plug, just bare wires

Cartridge replacement is great compared to whole pump replacement. No hoses to mess with. Just connect the wires and snap it into the base. It is one of the easiest repairs on a bass boat.

My 2001 flats boat came with Johnson/Mayfair bilge and aerator pumps with a new style that allows you to change the motor cartridges easily if they ever burn out. They lasted 8 years so I was not upset to have to replace them. These pumps promote easy motor changes and they even allow you the convenience of carrying spares onboard. However, finding just the replacement motors was impossible in local retail stores and I live in Fort Lauderdale. Even the largest fishing & boating retailers only carried the complete units. Online I found them everywhere so I advise if you need one to order a spare with it.
