This knife is a replacement for an identical one that I wore out after several seasons of use. It does seem to get hotter than the last one but keeps on going. It does not cut through the rib bones of catfish very well, but it works well on small to medium size walleyes and panfish.

I filet most all my fish perch, redear bluegills, walleye,pike trout, salmon a sharp filet hand knife could not do the job of cutting rib bones and skinning fish like this knife does,I HAVE HAD MINE 10 PLUS YEARS. I clean 450 or more fish a year with it to feed 3 familys,I vacuum pack the fish also good luck,

on my 2nd knife both lasted only couple fishing trips before they stopped working.Will have to send back to rapala [...] .would not buy this knife again.

this was a gift for my husband- he loves it- has used one before on vacation for perch, walleye, and pike and loved it so much he wanted one for himself.

This can be used in the house, in the boat or in the truck. Will mostly be used to clean fish - makes it possible to clean them at the boathouse or camp site and not mess up the kitchen.
