        I've had one of these poles for 10 years on my pontoon boat and it's still going strong. Of course, I stow it after every use of the boat. I've taken it on and off dozens of times and have never dropped any of it in the water.

            Too many sharp corners on the mounting bracket. Was going to mount on the railing of our pontoon boat but was concerned that the sharp corners might cut/scratch the grandkids if they bump up against it or grab.

                This is a poor design, when we went to put it on it would not fit and part of the bracket fell right in the water. Paid way to much for it and know have to use tywraps to hold it on.

                        Perko Built this? I have to say Perko standards are falling.
                        The design was very poorly thought out. The small clip that retains the mast is very weak. I lost a $35.00 patrol flag because of it. They should put a max wind of 15mph warning on the label. Instead of the clip they should use a set screw or thumb screw. The clamp also needs some work. The non slip rail clamp should have a better non-slip material on the inside where it meets the rail. With a little modfication it can be made into a useable rail mount mast pole.

                        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
