It really helps kids get in the right position to learn to ski. I've been around skiing a long time and have been a part of dozens of attempts to get kids up on skis. But the young ones always have difficulty getting the skiis positioned correctly, facing the right direction and with the rope between the skiis. This floatie puts them in the correct position without all the floundering in the water. Then as the boat picks up speed the kid can stand up as the boat pulls him up. Plus since they are already sitting above the water, they don't have to pull themselves up so far. It really does work and eventhough this thing should cost about $20 it will save [$] worth of aggrevation when you're trying for the 10th time to get a kid up. I would give it 5 stars for function and about a 2 for being over priced. So 4 stars overall.

This is a good concept but th product needs to be a little better. Specifically, it needs a speed valve not the old time squeeze to fill and empty valve. OK to fill, not so OK to deflate. I think they saved a few pennies at the expense of a more usable product. As far as teaching, it works to get someone new over the most difficult and intimadating part of a water sport-getting up.

Comments about RAVE Aqua Buddy Trainer:
Riders of all sizes and abilities are pulled off of the aqua buddy immediately. The only use besides sunbathing is getting up on wakeboard where the board could be used to hold the front of the A B up during acceleration. However while this worked for experienced riders it wasn't nearly so successful with beginners, A waste of money

The aqua buddy is a great learning tool for my 7yr old. We had tried everything for the past 2yrs and nothing worked. He got up with this little helper first try. Can't wait to try it with my 4yr old

Comments about RAVE Aqua Buddy Trainer:
Aqua buddy is great for kids and light weight skiers. It gets you out of the water quickly but the feeling is different than actually getting up/out of the water. It doesn't work as well with heavier skiers (135+lbs)since the skiis sink quicker. Great buy if you have several kids learning. I have 3.

I selected the "Aqua Buddy" as a fathers day gift for my husband. It was to help teach my 6 year old granddaughter Jocelyn to water ski ......
She is very athletic and could not wait to try to ski. We have purchased other things in the past and this seems to be the best.
