Used this combo one year, The rod held up but the reel didn't. The gearing stripped resulting in spool to free reel when the spool release was not depressed. Made it difficult to land a fish and you certainly could not troll with it when the spool lock failed in this manner. Would have expected the reel to last more than one season.
