The pfluger centina reel in my opinion is constructed much better than a average synergy steel shakespeare spincasting reel in its componets for instance the cone that closes over the spinnerhead is metal threads rather than plastic threads on a run of the mill synergy spincasting reel and the spool that releases is a plus similiar to the zebco omega z03.The drag system is good. The rod also is balanced and sensitive love the quality cork handles also like the reel seat and metal compliments . Lake bass and pike, and river smallmouth bass which i have caught on the combo.Do not overload the spool with line will hinder the performance of the centina, and certainly the drag which will cause loss of performance. A very small reel that is stylish and light weight excellent for preventing fatigue in extended casting. Smooth trouble free operation, casting distance outstanding even with 12lb test.Excellent gear, ease of use.Great combo

Nice comb for the dollars . 10lb @90 test is a little heavy for this outfit more like 8lb.@125 yard would be a better set up Nice feel when casting. The drag is fussy.
