Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Castaway 116 Fishing Kayak:
After 2 years my Yak still gets compliments and is great for fishing. I'm 6 Ft. tall, 220 lbs. and have yet to tip in it. I fish on the Metro lakes in Minnesota and the great freshwater lake, Lake Superior. The price has not dropped since I bought it.

Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Castaway 116 Fishing Kayak:
Took an eight hour lazy creek trip of 14 miles with a dozen and half riffles and a few rapids. The boat did very well for my first time on moving water.
I was impressed for a lower end kayak.
It would be a good idea to plug the scuppers where your feet are.
Good fishing boat I would recommend.

Just got it two days ago. Love it. I'm 5' 10" and 165 pounds. Lots of room. Moves rapidly, no problem moving straight ahead, or back. Highly recommend.

Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Castaway 116 Fishing Kayak:
I bought this kayak one month ago for a good price. I finally started to use it for the past week. I am 6' tall. 220 lbs. The yak is very stable, enough to move around and get to your gear. Tracking isn't the best, sometimes it goes straight some times it turns alittle when you stop paddling. Getting in and out was very easy. I recommend using wine corks to plug the two front scuppers and rear gear stowage scupper if you are planning to use it in calm water, "they let some water in". So far there has been no leakage in the front stowage compartment, just keep the straps tight. If you are a big strong guy like me you will have no use for the bow handle, I got my lure caught on it twice and had to get out of the yak to unsnag it, just remove it and save your sanity. Overall I find it very useful for fishing and look forward to using it every time.
