Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Bass Raider 8 Fishing Boat:
Couldn't ask for more for the price of this boat. My son and I go fishing with an old 3HP outboard, and we always have a good time. It fits right in the back of the truck or the wife's minivan. It is surprisingly stable, but don't expect it to win any races. It is difficult to paddle, so figure on some type of motor.

Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Bass Raider 8 Fishing Boat:
These pontoon boats(8 and 10 ft) are both two piece, top and bottoms, which are stapled together. They are not watertight, and even come with 2 drain plugs (located on the bow end!)
If you are a heavy person you will need a heavy person or some ballast in front to counterbalance to prevent the seam being below the waterline and taking on water. If the boat becomes filled with water it may not sink, but it will throw you and equipment overboard. It could be great for a small to "average" sized person, but if solo will still need the ballast.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Quality Construction
Cons
- Small

- Everyday Use
Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Bass Raider 8 Fishing Boat:
This is a nice light weight boat that is great for smaller lakes. Haven't tried in a larger lake yet but love this boat.

- Lightweight
Cons
- Top heavy

Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Bass Raider 8 Fishing Boat:
This boat is ok for a single person to use in calm waters/sheltered areas. I'd only advise 2 people in it if one or both are small. Its top heavy and seem unstable with anywhere near 400# of persons in it. I use it just for me, but if my girlfriend or one of my kids is with me, we fish from the bank or rent a jon boat instead.
