Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican™ Bass Raider 10 Fishing Boat:

Only problem is a 3.5HP gas motor, which weighs 38lbs is too heavy when just one person is in the boat. The front sits up in the air and the rear transom clears the water by only 2 inches.

handiest little boat that works great for two.so great to fish out of and gets you where the fish are where other boats cant go .use a 55lb thrust electric motor or 2.5hp gas thats under 50 lbs.fun to fish from and handy because you sit higher than a jon boat.

I just got this boat this Spring. I had it on a very rough Lake the other day and it was very stable even with the high winds and waves. I use a 30 lb. thrust Minn Kota and I couldn't be more pleased with the whole package. Seats are very comfortable. Even with two people it's very stable

Yes, I have used a battery powered trolling motor. By my recollection when I purchased my boat 3 years ago I was told I could go up to 12 HP. I use a 65 Thrust now. Further I think it works better pulling than pushing.
