  • Q:

What antenna can I use with this around 3-4 feet. Also what else do I need to make this work for my FM/Am Radio, a splitter and what else. Will this pick up FM/AM better than a standard antenna. Thank you for your time, Paul.

      A:

      Thank you for your question.
What type of vessel is this going on? Do you currently have a VHF onboard?
If you have a VHF on board then yes, a splitter such as item# 91524 will be needed to share the signal from one antenna. Do you boat in a remote location or far offshore? If so a larger dedicated VHF style AM/FM antenna is the answer. If not--then the typical rubber duck style antenna (item# 36624) will work fine for your application. I would suggest you call in and speak with our technical staff to fully explore your options.
