I am looking at redoing the deck of my boat with the non skid product line. If the substrate is wood but has metal hatches, is the metal primer mandatory for the hatches or can I only use the epoxy hardener and primer before the Non-skid top coat?

                    A:

Per manufacturers specifications, the metal primer should be used because it etches into the metal providing a better bond with the non-skid application.

                    A:

1 quart of primer will cover about 60 square feet. There are 2 pints in a quart so about 30 square feet is the coverage area of 1 pint of primer.

I'm confused about the primer and rubberized nonskid marine coating. I'm applying this to a pontoon boat with wood flooring. My question is which product goes on first? I put one coat of the nonskid coating on already, If this is not right what do I do. Thanks

it depends on the conditions that you are applying the tuff coat in. If it is cooler or shady it will take longer than it would if it was warmer and in the sun. If you call our technical department we can provide you with full specs on application, curing time, and usage conditions. The phone number for this free information is 1-888-683-7866.
