It took only 2 minutes to set up and then we were out with the grandchildren waterskiing/tubing. The panoramic feature eliminates the need to adjust he mirror when they move across the wake, back and fore.
Theonly improvement I would like to see is to coat the ball joint so that it moves easier and is protected against the marine environment. I put WD 40 on it but it needs a season to be tested.

When the mirror arrived, I was surprised at how big it was. I guess I didn't get my tape measure out to see just how big 4"x14" was. It's much bigger than the mirrors on other boats I've been around, which have been about the size of car mirrors. While being big allows you to see more, the mirror borders on being in the way. Also, the thumb screw doesn't work very well with the way our windshield is made. We had to make an extra little metal plate to go between the thumb screw and the little rubber deal. We have yet to see how well that works.

How does this work when covering the boat? Do you take it off when covering? Are you able to snap around it?

                A:

If you are mounting the mirror in the down position then you should be able to snap around it depending on how tight the spacing is between the snaps. If the cover material is too tight between the snaps then you can easily remove and store the mirror in the boat since it installs with very easy to use thumbscrews (no tools needed).
