I'd buy a different ladder next time

great strong platform but the ladder is difficult to pull up and store, it should flip up instead.

Comments about Garelick EEz-In Transom Outboard Platform with Two-Step Telescopic Ladder:

Very high quality ladder. Installed on my 2012 Alumacraft Trophy 185. I'm 6ft 220 and it doesn't even show signs of flexing with me on it. Be sure to purchase stainless fasteners for the boat side, along with a marine grade sealant. Only wish I had more time to use it!!!

This unit was a snap to install. it sits at just the right level to make boarding a breeze.
The only hitch is stowing the ladder it is diffecult to secure, a better method is needed.

Is mounting hardware included? If not, what type of hardware is needed? When mounting, does one simply screw in mounting screws, or does one drill all the way through the hull with a bolt and nut assembly?

                    A:

Mounting hardware is not included. We are required to leave mounting this ladder up to the customer. So, you can mount it either way you want, because both ways can be correct. It depends on your particular application.

These are universal ladders, not designed to fit on any specific type of boat. If you have space on your transom, the ladder will work.

Screws? I don't want to sound skeptical, but I have trouble believing screws could support something that is supposed to hold 275 pounds. Are you sure they won't come out? Is the hole large enough, or could I make it large enough, for a bolt?
