The American Water Ski Association has approved the use of recoil protectors to help prevent dangerous rope burn. A must-have for all competition water skiers. 4' long. Foam core with nylon jacket.           I use it to protect the fabric over my engine hump more than as a kick back protector. I just didn't want the rope going back and forth and damaging the upholstery of my ski boat. Easy to install.
