As I mentioned, this product is tough and easy to install. I used 1/2" Monel staples and followed the pattern of the old worn out carpet. The pontoons on my boat were full of barnacles when I pulled the boat out for the season, but this carpet did not tear or fray. I would buy this product again.

Used the stainless staples with an automatic stapler. Carpet was comparable to factory Malibu trailer bunk carpet. Nice and plush...good stuff. Will buy again.

Comments about Overton's Overton's Deluxe Daystar 16-oz. Marine Trailer Bunk Carpet:
Carpet was coming apart as I tried to install it on the bunk boards. looks like it was a waste of time, money and effort. Overton's usually has good products....this is not one of them. I should have returned the carpet before I started the install.

Comments about Overton's Overton's Deluxe Daystar 16-oz. Marine Trailer Bunk Carpet:
this carpet was somewhat thinner than I expected for the money. The carpet frayed a lot on the edges, I'm still triming off the frays.

A:
Unfortunately you will need 3 rolls. Since the rolls are 12 feet long you will have a lot of waste or leftover carpet.Answered on 7/5/2012 by cool cat Ken from Redfield, Arkansas

Q:
I am going to recarpet our pontoon boat trailer bunks. I will need the following number of pieces and measurments, (4) at 16'2", (2) at 11'6", (2) at 3'1" end stops. What kind of spary on glue do you recommend? I already have some stainless steel staples and gun. How do you fold the ends on the 2x4? Do you sell any lengths longer than 12'? If not how would you splice two pieces together to make the full length?Asked on 1/26/2010 by Max from Wichita, KS1 answer

A:
The longest length of bunk carpeting we do have are 12' rolls. A butt joint would be the best way to attach two rolls to cover an entire bunk.Answered on 1/28/2010 by Toby from Overtons Tech Dept.

Q:
I have a 2 x 6 x 12 will these rools cover at least one side enough to stapel underneathAsked on 8/19/2009 by baja3021 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
If you try to use this on a 2 x 6 you will only have 1.25 inches on either side to staple to the board, because the board is 6 inches wide plus 1 1/4" for each side. The rolls are 11 inches wide, so 11 minus 8.5 is 2.5 inches left over and if you half it for 2 sides it leaves 1.25 inches or 1 1/4 inches on either side. I would not recommend anything bigger than a 2 x 6 for these bunk carpet rolls.Answered on 9/14/2009 by JUSTIN from OVERTONS TECHNICIAN
