Comments about Old Town Discovery 158 Canoe:

I have owned this canoe for over 29 years. I have used it on extended trips from a 9 day Big Bend river trip on its initial outing traveling over 100 miles at times short class 3 water. I used it in the rivers of Alaska and Canada on a 2 month camping trip, I used it during the last 20 years in multiple types of water in most of the Golf coast states during a 10 year period at a regular monthly basis. And Finally this canoe has traveled all the western states from Colorado west for the last 15 years during some of my annual travels with my family. The only thing which I had to replace were the seats and hardware once WHICH I finished just recently in preparation for the canoe next adventure with my grandchildren and their family. For me at 70 years, a hard decision but this canoe will serve another 30 years with a seat or two being replaced. I will be buying a shorter lighter Old Town this summer to continue my passion for canoing adventures. Great Canoe for all ages and levels of expertise.

Comments about Old Town Discovery 158 Canoe:

Great...if not the best canoe made and ever made. This is the canoe that outfitters have rented for years. We have owned a 16 foot discovery (various models) since 1980s...we have used it for whitewater, fishing, marsh, ponds, lakes and everything. Put it on top of suburbans to a little subaru. Great all around boat, not too big for a solo and not too little for two people or even 3. Takes a beating.
