This is a Christmas gift for my boys, they have wanted to start water skiing after watching me and they are ready fo rthe water this spring/summer! We have not been on these yet but the fit and quality for the price looks great. I would recommend them

Comments about O'Brien O'Brien Jr. Vortex Combo Waterskis:
My daughter is about 60 lbs. and after about 5 tries, could easily get up on the ski. (That was her first time trying to slalom.) So, it was great for learning to get up on a slalom.
However, once up, it has some challenges. It is somewhat unstable (it wants to roll to either side), when riding between the wakes. It is much more stable, when on an edge on the outside of the wakes leaning slightly away from the boat.
Also, unless the skier is going side to side, it tends to put a lot of spray in the skiers face. This may be due to her light weight, but shifting her weight toward the front or back of the ski does not help, neither does changing the speed.
There may not be anything better on the market, but I would shop around a little more before deciding to buy this ski again.

Comments about O'Brien O'Brien Jr. Vortex Combo Waterskis:
Bought these to get my 9 and 11 year old kids skiing. The 9 year old was up and skiing in three tries and the 11 year old in 5 tries. Wide design is so much easier than the old style...Great product, too bad they cost so much (but what doesn't these days).
