Comments about Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater:

Great product. Easy to use. It will keep you in the woods or ice longer than you'd ever want to. Just pack a few extra 1lb propane tanks because they won't last more than a couple hours each on high.

Comments about Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater:

We use it to supplement heat in our 34' camper when dry camping. We installed two supplemental CO detectors in addition to the CO detector that came with the camper, we use the Mr. Heater during the day with two of the roof vents open about a inch to allow for fresh air. I would not use this heater while sleeping - it does have a low oxygen cut off and a anti-tip device, but not worth the risk. We use our on board furnace for the overnight hours. This unit is great when camping without hookups as it keeps battery usage to a minimum.

Comments about Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater:

My home has an unheated enclosed porch that is pleasant to sit on but not in the cold months. The Little Buddy heater warms up the porch in about 10 minutes allowing my family to sit out there and watch the snow fall.

          • Q:

Can I use this heater in a small camper van ?
It would be real useful in our VW pop-up camper, I just was not sure if there was any emissions or breathing issues. I assume it is safe since it is advertised for RVs. We do have a 4yr old who camps with us.
I have also heard there is a limitation with elevation.
            THANKS !

You turn down the knob and switch to the ignite position while clicking the electric ignition. Easy as pie.

Does this heater put off the propane smell? We have a small heater now that after an hour or tow you may get a headache because of the smell. we only use it for ice fishing in the shanty.

            • A:

Yes it is a catalytic heater, and a very efficient one at that! It can be used indoors, and has a low O2 sensor shut off. I am a fire department Lt. and paramedic. I have used, and continue to use this product with confidence. I find this product to be not only an efficient and quality product, but safe too. I would not use this product myself, much less endorse it, if it were not an efficient, safe, quality product. I hope this helps.
