The mount is easy to install and worked well the first time out. With my trolling motor, however, I had to screw the motor down to the very end of the screws. The mount could be a bit thicker, but it's made so that I can add a piece of wood to it and improve upon it.

The hooks on wooden part of mount have to be unscrewed all the way to get rods in. Then don't tighten when wing nut is turned to tighten. Hole on board need to be a little bigger to avoid this.

I've used this mount on a small 6 man inflateable.
lightweight & stable.
The stock clamps were not strong enough for the
Colorado River so I added 2 cable clamps and it
works great!!

fishing touring the back waters, it holds the trolling motor well. It slipped out of hole a few times, but was easy to reinstalled.
