Q:My fuel tank is 17 inches deep. I cannot use the 17 1/2 inch unit and it looks like they don't have a 16 inch unit. Would the 15inch unit work ??

A:go with the 17 1/2 inch unit .you will have to gasket it up 1/2 inch to make it fit if you have the room .they make gasket material for it . auto parts stores have gasket making material . hope that helps .dwc from kyAnswered on 5/28/2014 by dwc from beaver dam ky
A:It would still work, but it would give you a false reading, thinking when you get down to 2.5 inches left, the guage would read empty.Answered on 10/20/2010 by Bryant from Tech
