Product Description
moeller Manufactured from marine-grade cross-linked polyethylene material, these durable below-deck tanks meet and exceed all industry standards. Moeller permanent fuel tanks are equipped with a Stewart Warner electric sending unit, a 1/4" NPT aluminum withdrawal, and a molded plastic barbed vent. Not for use with diesel fuel. Hydrocarbon swell causes tanks to expand by 3% in all directions. When measuring, please allow for this expansion as well as an extra 2-1/2" for fittings. Additional $5.00 shipping charge.

        I needed to replace an aluminum under deck tank that was nearly 40 years old. The old tank had a 90 degree bend fill pipe. The only tank I could find is this Moeller. I only hope that the vertical fill is able to withstand the stress of the thick filler hose I had to bend to attach to the tank. I only had 3 inches clearance to the deck above it.

                  Can I use this tank on a Boston whaler 17 ft Montauk under the pilot seat on top of the deck. The dimensions seem to fit the space availabe and the fittings can be adapted, to include a gas gauge which I do not have , but can get in a local boat supply shop. The tank can be anchored on the seat frame and the floor with aluminum brackets and or straps.

                    No unless the fill pipe is remote from the tank. The recommended tank has a twist off cap on the tank. Be sure to anchor the tank to the deck, allowing for expansion of the flexible sides and top.
