Comments about Moeller Clear Site Water Separating Fuel Filter System w/Powder-Coated Head:
Air enters the system through the site glass threads and gas leaks through the same threads. With the petcock valve fully closed you can see air bubbles come up by the threads well below the site glass bottom. Attempted to use with a new Yamaha four stroke. Engine would not run at high speed due to air entering the system.

There should be no problem with that. Please either call us at 1-800-334-6541 and speak with someone in our Tech Department or you can go to moellermp.com.Answered on 9/3/2009 by Chad @ Overton's from Greenville, NC
Q:
need to know how it operates. I bought a used boat and it has this type of separator, when I turn the valve vacuum pulls air into it and gas drips out after suction. If there were water would have mexed back in with the gasoline?
thank you for you time.

It sounds like the one you have needs to be replaced. The fuel water seperator does just that. It seperates the water from the fuel and sends the fuel to the engine while holding the water until it is manually drained from the holding area.Answered on 9/3/2009 by JUSTIN from OVERTONS TECHNICIAN
