Ultra tough, KeelGuard is designed to protect your boat's keel from excess wear and abrasion that comes from contact with sand, rocks, or concrete ramps. This easy-to-install, 5" wide, protective strip is made of a polymer composite and uses an extremely strong 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive. Once applied to your boat's keel, you can forget about it. Angled grooves in the KeelGuard produce hydrodynamic channels, creating air pockets and providing a slicker surface. Comes with a free Stainless Steel Scuffbuster bow eye guard to prevent scratches when trailering. Lifetime "no hassles" warranty.

    I purchased the KeelGuard because I fish two local lakes that does not always have a boat dock at the launch ramp. This allows me to ground my fiberglass boat with confidence that the keel is being protected from potential damage. The application of the product is fairly simple if you watch the included video instructions. It is a must have for any fiberglass boat.

                    I was concerned that the two sided tape used to install keelguard would give up in time but so far it has done great. It all comes down to prepping the surface correctly before installing, which was very easy. Follow directions exactly as video shows and you won't have a problem.

                          This product will not bend to tighter curves when cool. Manufacturer is VERY optimistic about lower ambient tempreture use. 65' is still to cool for ANY bending. Once applied, it is applied, whether it fit the curve or not !! Beware!

                              it can be cut, it is heavy plastic but wit a good pair of tin snips you could cut it. i cut one down for my last boat. really no need to the extra length just gives you more protection

                              A:

                              The back of this item has a film that you take off and it is sticky underneath. Little by little you place the guard on the keel of the boat and use some sort of hard rolling object, similar to a rolling pin if you will, and press it on to the keel. Make sure the surface is clean before applying the keel guard.
