I have only used this product once so far and with it being my first fish finder i wasnt sure what to expect. I mainly wanted it for depths and just to see if there were any fish below. This exceeded my expectations. the clarity of the screen is amazing as well as the easy readability of screen and fish markings. the only downfall that i did not like with this is you need to get your own battery connectors. i fish off of a jon boat so there is really no wires besides the trolling motor for the battery so i needed to find my own battery clips to hook it to the battery. other than that, this fish finder is great and i would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fish finder that isn't expensive at all.

A super easy to use unit at a great price. My previous Lowrance fishfinder was a 1999 model, and this new model is very much improved. If you, like me, want to keep it simple while you're out fishing...this is the one for you. More fishing time and less lost time figuring out the electronics.

Will this unit work on a kayak putting the transducer down in the bottom of the hull?

                • A:

YES!!! At first I used a suction cup mount under the hull. I liked the unit so I moved the transducer. mounted it inside on the bottom of the hull. works fine, shooting through the hull. It is neater, cleaner this way.
