Saw another review that said this GPS was not accurate at all and had bad maps. I disagreed enough to post my own. This thing is great. Very strong reception - usually ranging in accuracy between 9 and 13 feet EPE which is very good. Easy to learn due to the touchscreen and menu navigation. Works with gloves so you don't freeze your hands off during a North winter. It is also great for folks that have never used a GPS before.

It has really good maps for the money. Most GPS under $200 don't have much in the way of maps but the Out&Back comes with highways, interstates, main city roads and some country roads. It has all of the lakes and rivers marked but with basic detail.

I bought it mainly for deer and duck hunting but it is good for camping and hiking too. It has about 30 hunting icons and another 10 or so for fishing. I can also load hiking trails from the web onto it for free. I am told it will work with marine charts later this Spring but that's not what I bought it for so don't know more on that.

I geocache some and it has one of the best paperless geocaching applications I have ever seen and can even give you filtering ability on the fly. Almost all handheld GPS products including Garmin can't do that yet.

My kids are in grade school and they learned how to use it quickly of course. It even works with playing pictures from my Moultrie game camera while I am standing next to it in the woods.

The only thing I wish it had was an electronic compass but you really can't find a GPS at this price that does have one.

All in all, very solid. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is nice for those who bike and like to hike. The thing that really made me mad when I bought this is that when you get 5 feet from your destination it BEEPS at you saying you arrived... but I still had some feet to go and wanted it to say 0 feet so I knew exactly where it was. I could not turn this feature off. Also, it loses you in the woods easily and the landmarks and lakes are not accurate. Nice and portable and light. But I might have to get a better one.

Just so people know, NO GPS Hand held or otherwise will say o feet to go. the are all close however you will see that all say they are acurate to 3 meters or more this would be 10 feet give or take. it is made to get you to your location not an exact sq. ft. Thank you and enjoy. this is a great GPS for the money

Yes, you will be fine changing out your batteries if you are backtracking your trail to the truck.

What would be better is to mark the truck as a waypoint with the truck icon (yes, there is one along with an ATV icon too) and then navigate back to the truck. This option will show where the truck is on the map where if you are just backtracking your walk in, it will show the trail but not show where the truck actually is except maybe to show where the trail ends.
