Lowrance has put everything you need into this single unit. (20 Transducer Cable, Cover, Downscan Imaging, Fishfinder, Split Screen, GPS, Maps for Inland Lakes and tons of add-on options to enhance the unit's capabilities. Couldn't find anything close in terms of price and functionality. Spent an hour installing and the unit did not disappoint. Downscan imaging works really well and the maps were loaded / ready to use right out of the box. I have searched for apps / units that mapped our inland lake but had not been able to find anything usable or up to date. I was pleasantly supprised to see that our lake was not only mapped, but also very accurate. It was exactly what is needed to see where lake depths drop and rise. Best feature is the ability to mark fishing hotspots! GPS shows you direct course and gets you back to your exact locations as quickly as possible. Only downside is the learning curve because of all the features.

It's easy to use. I like the split screen with the chart plotter and sonar.

One negative on the lake pro disk included. The disk does not fit into the unit. You have to purchase the smaller disk and load the info from the larger disk to the smaller disk.

Nice looking screen with plenty of resolution. The manual could use more detailed explanation of the functions, but you can generally work your way through without it. No problem using the sonar at 20 MPH (as fast as my pontoon goes) with correct transducer placement.

              Thank you for your question.
For best performance--far and above the unit needs to be transom mounted.
You can mount in-hull--but you will lose some sensitivity on the imaging portion of the sonar. You will need to find a mounting location with no bottom strakes or contours. Once you have your location--you will need to sand off the top of your mounting surface and sand off the gloss on the bottom of the transducer. Then--affix the transducer in place with marine grade epoxy ensuring to remove all bubbles for best performance.

              Thank you for your question.
The Lowrance BaseMap is pretty detailed---but not a complete obviously as a dedicated chartcard for the area. This package contains a Lake Insight card----but you for dedicated coastal navigation you may wish to purchase the Lowrance Nautic Insight card.
