Comments about Keen® Men's Targhee II Low Hiker:
I wore these shoes pretty much every day for the last 3 years --- hiking, teaching, and shopping. They are very comfortable and have, generally held up well. I think they are stylish (but what do I know). They are certainly rugged, with deep treds and water-proof materials. It's time for me to buy another pair.
On the "con" side, the interface n=between the rubber toe cover and the nylon cloth has separated on both shoes. It is hard to see, but still, for the price, Keen could have done a better job of reinforcing the materials boundary. Also, with use, the edges of the black treds will separate from the surrounding rubber. It starts at the top of the treds, where you never step, but if not repaired will result in problems. Sho-Goo will make the repairs, but it only lasts about 6 months. Then more Sho-Goo. If I didn't love the shoes, I'd just toss 'em at that point. Again, can't Keen find a better way to bond these materials?

A:
yes they are. not gortex but Keens versionAnswered on 12/29/2009 by scoutmaster steve from south river new jerseyA:
Yes. The Keen-Dry is a Gore-tex clone. The standard tretment that you would give to a Gore-Tex fabric is the same to use on this.Answered on 5/15/2010 by Andy from Store #251
