For use in locations not affected by magnetic interference. Features alignment adjustment for off-center mounting, 2 levels of damping, push-button course indicator, automatic compensation, and an NMEA 0183 data output for interfacing with other gear. 6.3" dia. x 2.5" H.     Comments about KVH Azimuth 1000 Digital Compass:

    I replaced the mechanical wheel steering compass with this unit on our keelboat. FANTASTIC and it has been so for five years of service. This is billed as a motor boat compass - nonsense - it makes a great sailboat unit unless you can heel over more than 25 degrees and still go fast. I take it off the boat every winter and keep it out of the sun totally - factory cover plus a sunbrella cover over the wheel when not in use. Great unit - it has never failed to work.

    Not only would I recommend this compass - I have recommended it to others.

      I have an azimuth 1000 compass that is not working. It displays some odd characters. I have read the manual and can not figure it out. I am looking for recommendations or someone that can repair it. Any information would be helpful. I have had no response from KVH.
