I should have spent more. I tried replacing my original speakers on my pontoon with these and there is a big difference in sound. They sound tinny with no bass. I like decent sound but these sound like an AM radio. Maybe the higher priced JBL's sound better.

The speakers fit with no problem in the existing factory holes. They are made very durable and once I got them out of the box I could tell that they were high quality for the price. The installation of the speakers (4 in all) only took an hour. Removing the old speakers was the hard part due to the old wiring that had corroded where it connected to the speaker . Sound quality is very good for my old stereo and now I think I may need to update it.

These speakers are advertised both online and in the catalog as 6" speakers, but when they arrived it's clearly printed on the box and on all literature inside that they are 6 1/2". I even confirmed on JBL's website, so I think the description needs to be corrected. I was not at all happy when they first arrived, but I was able to make them fit by cutting the holes a little.

There are couple of ways to determine the size of the speaker you would need. You can either measure the actual cover or the hole cut out needed as well.Answered on 2/15/2011 by Toby from Overtons Tech. Dept.
