Q:How would you determine if you will need the 3-4 or 5 step ladder?Asked on 5/28/2009 by Bill from Lake Norman in NC
A:Bill - each step will result in the bottom step being 12" below the top of your dock. For example, the bottom step on a 4 step ladder will be 48" below the top of the dock. You will need to determine the distance from the top of the dock to the typical water level and then allow a couple extra feet for the ladder to go under the water so it is easier to reach the first step when climbing up. I would suggest this flip-up ladder or the lift ladders so you can raise the steps out of the water to prevent marine growth.Answered on 5/29/2009 by Michael from Overtons
