External Engine Flusher
Seems to be adaquate for short run times. More water can be flushed through the engine system using the engine to water hose connector that usually comes installed on newer inboard motors.

Comments about Moeller Inboard Engine Adjustable Motor Flusher:
It's a great product but does not fit all inboards - specifically the "99" Nautique 196 and other years. A list of hulls that need retrofitting would be useful

Seals great! Pushes a lot of water through so the engine will not over heat.

Comments about Moeller Inboard Engine Adjustable Motor Flusher:
I bought this for two reasons.
One for winterizing my inboard boat and the second, just to be able to test the boat prior to placing the boat in the water in the spring.
I have a 2002 Moomba Mobius and it worked well. I have only used it one time, but expect to save money and time by winterizing my boat myself. I also bought a winterizing kit from Overtons at the same time I bought this tool.

Comments about Moeller Inboard Engine Adjustable Motor Flusher:
I've used this a number of times on my fiberglass boat with inboard. The primary reason i bought it was for the adverstised "large" plunger head. I have not been able to find anything larger on the market and knew it would be tight fit. Many boats really need a 6inch diameter but this 5 5/8inch seems to be the largest available. Well, it works, but not as well as it could. The edge of the plunger lips up over the brass grate and water tends to come splashing out the side, BUT the seal is good enough for me to fire up the engine. I know its getting enough water because I see it streaming out the transom in back and my impeller seal is a little loose so it drips (just like when we are out in the lake). Overall, it accomplishes what I need it to, but it could be better if they offered different sized plunger heads. telesoping pole works quite well and is of good quality.

Comments about Moeller Inboard Engine Adjustable Motor Flusher:
The idea is great, and may work on most applications, but the rubber boot is too small in diameter to cover the water intake port on my 1999 Ski Nautique.

Comments about Moeller Inboard Engine Adjustable Motor Flusher:
Great and useful product but I think the manufacturer should charge $2 more and replace the plastic fitting with a stronger brass one.
I say this because mine broke the first time I used it. So if you buy one run by your hardware store and pick up that brass fitting and swap it out then you'll have no problems at all. Still a great deal and great product for any inboard owner.

Q:
Does the unit include the hose? Or are additional fittings and hose required? Also, you recommend 74469 (electric pump and bucket system) for winterizing, but I've read that it is best to allow the engine to passively draw up the antifreeze for winterizing rather than to force it in with a pump. Is that correct? This product seems to allow the engine to draw up the antifreeze.Asked on 10/4/2010 by bkt from Edgewater, MD1 answer
